One of the most rewarding parts of being a brand and commercial photographer is the opportunity to witness powerful moments in the lives of business owners and change makers—and Dr. B’s book signing event was exactly that.

I first met Dr. B and her incredible team through a client referral. From the very beginning, I could see the passion and purpose behind her work. She brought me in to capture professional headshots of her team, portraits of herself, and some lifestyle imagery in a staged classroom setting—photos that would soon be featured in her new book, Ease the Pain in the Classroom.

Fast forward to this April, and I was honored to be invited to document the official book signing event at the beautiful Opera House in Lakeport, New Hampshire. Now, I’ve never been to a book signing before, but I’m pretty sure they don’t all feel like this.

The room was filled with energy, music, laughter, and a charcuterie spread that could rival a five-star event. But what stood out the most wasn’t just the ambiance—it was the genuine support and celebration that surrounded Dr. B. This wasn’t just about a book launch—it was about honoring a mission, recognizing a team, and celebrating years of meaningful work to support educators and students alike.

For me, as a brand photographer, this was more than another event. It was a full-circle moment—from capturing the imagery that would help bring her vision to life, to documenting the celebration of its completion.
